I use one of each - the factory setting I use for producing - volumes, panning, solo/mute/record arm and recording automation in device mode. The factory settings and user settings can be set up how you like. The faders are equally firm and smooth, it takes enough resistance to move them without them flying all over the shop in a slight breeze. The knobs have a 'click' to denote the middle (64/217) and have the perfect resistance - firm but smooth. The quality of the build is unbelievable, especially for the asking price. The Launch Control XL is a masterpiece of design and works with you to make Ableton Live an expressive performance platform. I have about five solid years' experience with Ableton Live and have used a lot of controllers from the Push 2 to both APC40 models.
